The Yahoo! - GeoCities merger is official, and as a result, we'll soon be making some great changes to the site will fully integrate our two sites. From that day forward, all GeoCities members will need to go through a one-time-only re-registration process.

As it turns out, some of the hottest consumer products being shown this year at PC Expo are not PCs. Although all of the major computer manufacturers will be showing off their newest wares, devices and peripherals of all manner and size will likely steal the spotlight this week on the show floor, in keynote speeches, and during expert roundtable discussions. The main spot light is mp3's, digital music online and access to online music. Also portable mp3 players, Microsoft and some of its hardware partners will be showing off Windows CE palm-size devices capable of playing MP3 music and audio files, as well.

Diamond Multimedia Systems is expected to unveil a new version of its Rio portable MP3 player Wednesday that carries twice the digital music as its current device. Diamond confirmed it's unveiling a "new digital audio platform" in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening. The San Jose, California-based company declined to give further details.
